The ResurFX takes fractional resurfacing to a new level. The only laser capable of a single pass that actually delivers "multi-pass" results, the ResurFX uses a 1565 nm fiber laser and a CoolScan scanner. What makes this a big deal?
Typical fractional lasers require multiple passes because skin cooling is such an important element in a safe treatment program. Stamp pattern and rolling scan delivery can overheat the skin very quickly. This overheating can create a high level of post treatment discomfort or pain.
The ResurFX CoolScan uses a special sequencing that places each fractional spot in a controlled manner that allows the tissue to relax between pulses providing protection from overheating. Overheating can not only cause post-treatment pain but also dramatically increases the risk of treatment-related hyperpigmentation.
