Dr. Bonakdar Explains: This before and after is a great example of what happens to the smile lines when cheek volume loss is corrected with fillers. Cheek augmentation done correctly lifts the midface as well as the lower face up, diminishing the lower face lines and sagging. Correction of lower face lines done after mid face correction requires less filler and will result in more natural look. Over corrected lower face area leads to a chipmunk appearance which I avoid by addressing the mid face first and the lower face second.
